Social Worker

Marion Thomas is a qualified social worker, trained at the University of Cape Town, with over a decade of experience in mental health and healthcare settings. She has a broad range of counselling experience and a particular passion for palliative care. Her work includes walking alongside clients and their families during times of serious illness, including at the end of life—always with care, humility, and deep respect for the privilege of sharing in such vulnerable and meaningful journeys.
Marion understands that mental health care is not only about diagnosis or intervention, but about connection, dignity, and helping people make sense of their experiences in ways that feel human and manageable. Her commitment is to provide care that is compassionate, practical, and accessible—meeting people where they are and honouring both their challenges and their strengths.
Marion brings a depth of lived understanding to her practice. She respects the complexity of each person’s story and their right to own it. She sees herself not as the author of anyone’s story, but as someone privileged to hold a safe and respectful space within it.
