Robert John de Wet has owned and operated many businesses over the last 30 years, including restaurants, medical training institutions and an ambulance service. Robert is a registered Business Advisor with the Institute of Business Advisors (SA) and a Chartered Public Relations Practitioner with the Public Relations Institute (SA). In addition to co-authoring learning material for SA Rugby in the arena of field-side injury management, Robert is an HPCSA registered intermediate life support paramedic and an honorary life member of False Bay Volunteer Emergency Medical Services, a public benefit ambulance service in the valley with whom he has volunteered for the last 2 decades. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Business Management from the University of Pretoria and has recently released qualitative research in the field of propellers of NPO sustainability. Robert is currently serving as the CEO of the non-profit Helderberg Hospice in Somerset West.
Dr Greg Jemmett is a GP at a family practice based in Noordhoek. His particular approach to medicine is patient-centred and empathetic, with a view to acknowledging the whole person amidst their health concerns. In light of this he has developed a particular interest in mental health management in primary care, and is eager to assist patients with stress, burnout, anxiety and depressive disorders.
Louise Eksteen worked in finance / admin for engineering, banking and liquor industries for more than 14 years. In 2014, she became CFO of the NPO LIV Village, an NPO that cares for orphaned and vulnerable children where she financially oversaw their many various community and business projects. In 2019, she joined the fundraising arm of the Carel du Toit Trust (NPO, PBO), where the Carel du Toit centre teaches deaf children to listen and speak. She currently oversees their Newborn Hearing program, Parent Guidance, WCED registered school, eLearning Programme, Fundraising Trust and various community outreach programs.
Prof Herholdt has been in pastoral and counselling ministry full time for twenty years. He has been a full time senior lecturer in pastoral subjects for 12 years. He has academic and research work experience of 20 years at various universities. In addition, he has authored 6 publications in wellness, counselling and theology and over 300 study guides. His postgraduate accredited qualifications are: M – Systematic Theology, M – Medical Sociology, DPhil. – Philosophy, PhD – Natural Medicine Currently he holds the following positions: Founder and President of ASCHP 2, Visiting Professor at Gideon Robert University 3 and Director at Synergetica Student Support Centre.
Dr Waseem Hawa is currently the Principal Psychologist (Head of Department) of Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital), the Convenor of the Child Criminal Capacity Assessment Service at Valkenberg Psychiatric Hospital and the Chairperson Division of Psychotherapy, Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health, at the University of Cape Town. He has also previously held the position as Clinical Psychologist at Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital and lecturer at Stellenbosch University after working as a Clinical Psychologist at Breede River Management Area, Department of Correctional Services. Waseem maintains a limited private practice since 2014.
Kathy Cronje has been working in the False Bay (South Peninsula) community at grass roots level for 15 years (since 2007). She started as a trauma debriefer at the Ocean View Police Station which prompted her to start her own NPO, The Safe House. The Safe House houses, cares for and empowers abused women and children who are at risk. Kathy is passionate about networking and connecting. She understands and acknowledges that we have a deeply traumatised community and that alone, we will not cope with it, but united, we can. Currently she holds the following positions: 1. Andrea Nettel is the Founding Director and Counsellor of The Family Counselling Centre and the CEO of the newly established Far South Counselling (NPC). She sees the individual as part of a system and works together with her clients to empower individuals and communities. Far South Counselling was born out of her passion to empower communities and reconnect families by developing an understanding of the self and others. Andrea’s interest in trauma and its effects on the individual, the family and the community informs her counselling practice.
Gavin Fish says the he remains totally sold on South Africa’s youth. By implication therefore the encouragement and upskilling of our nations parents and educators. He has recently embarked on a career change into Life Coaching and Teen Mentoring after 34 years in High School education.
