Our Office is reopening on 8th January 2017. For assistance or to make an appointment please WhatsApp or call us on 072 375 6089.
Here are some new things we have planned :
- “Let’s Get Talking With…” – We will be having monthly conversations with various professionals. Every last Tuesday of each month we will be inviting you to a small group conversation with one of our specialists. Look out for ongoing announcements.
- Parents living with Special Needs Children: Andrea has personal experience in raising a child with special needs. She will be starting a group aimed at supporting and empowering parents who climb the daily mountain of living with a physically or mentally challenged child.
- Support for Emergency Services: One of our focal points in 2018 is to reach out to those who reach out to others. Paramedics, social workers, teachers, nurses, etc. work hard all year round to assist our community. We are appealing to all organizations working in these fields to contact us to find out more on how we can assist their staff.
- Providing Professional Yet Affordable Services: We are looking forward to growing our services and continuing with our work by offering professional and affordable counselling to individual, couples and families.
2017 -The Year Gone By
We have had a great 2017 Thank you to all our clients and those promoting our services.
In March we welcomed Carol Bradley our Secretary. Thank you Carol for volunteering your services to our centre. It is a wonderful feeling knowing you are at reception. We are looking forward to enjoying your presence in 2018. Andrea Nettel, our Founding Director, took over as the interim School Counsellor position at Bay Primary School in August this year. Andrea will most probably continue at Bay Primary until July 2018. TFCC (The Family Counselling Centre) welcomed 2 new practitioners. Leigh Johnson a Parent, Relationship and Life coach and Anelle van der Westhuizen a highly qualified counsellor joined our family.
In September Jeannie Reeves, Leigh Johnson and Tanya Shenfield-Schwartz spent some time with the ladies at Narina Gardens Frail Care in belated celebration of Woman’s Month. TFCC has continued to support VDP in Ocean view and Masiphumelele by providing counselling and staff development to the socialworkers. In December we concluded the year by offering a drug awareness workshop for HOKISA in Masiphumelele.
This year we also had to say a sad good bye to Jeannie Reeves. It has been an honour working with you and we wish you all the best going forward.
Thank you, God, for an extremely blessed 2017!
